Oblivion Hazard Online Book 1 Audible Audio Edition Jaeger Mitchells Maximillian Breed Ajdin Denic Books Reviews
- This story is pretty lackluster. MC gets his mind trapped in a game and gets plotted against by literally everyone. We follow him as he first awakens and starts his adventures.
The "harem" in this story is completely fake. He is being manipulated by the women in the group for their own purposes. None of the characters really care for him because his is just a puppet. In my opinion, this ruined the story for me. I hate reading a story where the MC is essentially being kicked while he is down the whole time and had no one to truly rely on.
The MC is also very spineless. We see him go from being a raid leader to essentially a feeble teenager and fluctuate between them.
There are segments where we see him gain levels, gear and stats but they are pretty bare.
I understand the author warned of grammar issues, but the book is full of them all over the place. From words being spelled wrong to it switching from 1st to 3rd person in the same paragraph.
Overall, this is a drop and I am disappointed how it is presented. Unless you like stories where the MC is a punching bag and a puppet, don't waste your time. - First off this is a great book in the growing LitRPG Harem genre, and while I would recommend it to many people who enjoy the genre there are elements to the book to be wary of. One thing that sticks out very prominently for this novel over others within the genre is the questions of what is true life, and what sort of damage might being caught in a digital universe cause a person's sanity? In these questions this is very similar to the Ghost in the Shell anime. Also another element that may stick out is how so many of the characters are out for their own agenda and unconcerned with anyone else. The lines of morality within this book are blatant about a lot of things within the book but there are also other parts where the morality is much murkier and more human. Really this book contains great LitRPG elements within it that other authors of the genre have yet to fully explore or even ask. This book is very well done and I cannot wait for the next in the series hence the five star rating, however I would say that I would warn that it is a very adult book in the genre on many levels. On a last positive note I really loved that the author has a seal on the cover to let readers know from the get go it is an adult novel.
- This book reminded me of the awaken online series with some characters not being what they seem. The MC is trapped in a fantasy world where he must navigate a corporation that only wants to use him, a girl who is terrified of being abandoned, and a girl who adores him. I can't wait to see how the story continues and who the true villains of the story turn out to be.
- I liked the premise of the novel. I also liked the MC’s evolution and the open ended space to make him grow even more. I do think this is a somewhat weird harem story as the women don’t seem totally into the MC however. I think that with some solid growth with the relationship’s he’s in it could work out well though.
- I really liked the novel. It's was very fast paced, with good combat scenes and plentiful of adult content. If yor read LitRPG or Harem genres will really enjoys this. Excited to jump into book 2
- I Enjoyed the story, and can't wait to see where the author takes it in the next books
- So I found the story fairly entertaining.. a little different spin on some of the other "mind trapped in game" style stories I've read. And while the MC was pathetic at times it's not nearly as bad as many books out there right now.
Now the main issue I had with this book was how poorly it was edited and formatted. Tense changes mid sentence, words are missing/misspelled and the graphics for stats is so small it's pretty much illegible (I have 20/10 vision).
This book could have done so much more than it did.. - This book had a decent plot idea behind it. The author states up front that English is not their first language, and it shows. There are numerous errors is word choice, as well as failures to capitalize proper nouns.
What was more distracting was simply the way the characters behaved. One has her psyche possibly fractured by her experience dying and being brought back in the game. Another is a nymphomaniac who doesn’t make sense most of the time. The GM that runs things also behaved erratically. Then there is the MC, who doesn’t understand the adage “you don’t stick your <male parts> in crazyâ€.
