Drawing People with William F Powell Learn to draw step by step How to Draw Paint William F Powell 9781633227972 Books Reviews
- I chose this rating because I think William Powell is an great illustrator and his work is easy to follow along. His illustration was just what I was looking for and the great tips for drawing and painting was more then I really expected. I recommended this book to my grand children, who love to draw and paint.
- Always something to learn, I especially like the example .
- Another Wm. Powell book I purchased for my granddaughter. The instruction is easy to understand and follow. For the beginning artist or someone just wanting to improve their drawing they are the books to purchase.
- This book is a fine place to start your art career or hone up your skills. I'm glad to have it as a reference book.
- I bought this book for our grandson. He had been watching me draw pencil portraits and told my wife, "I'd like to be able to draw people like Nonno does." I didn't know whether he meant drawing portraits or doing figure drawing, which are two quite different things. He'd already shown some interest in art, making "books" including cartoons he'd basically copied, including anime, which impresses me as a moronic art form, the graphic equivalent of rap music, whether well executed or not.
Christmas was coming and we decided to surprise him with some sort of drawing kit filled with art supplies from drawing pencils and pens, erasers, pencil sharpeners and much more. We galloped to a large art supply store and started to look. All the how-to-books for beginners seemed either too childish or far too complicated for a 12-year old. I finally did what I should have done in the first place and went online to where I found Mr. Powell's book. It's a good overview for beginners who don't know yet quite what they want to draw. It's clear, well-illustrated and covers a lot of ground. I think it's a good starting point where a novice, even a kid, can learn, probably mostly by copying. I've personally found that drawing is mostly learned by doing anyway.
This inexpensive guide is certainly an affordable and sensible place to take a shot at realistic drawing. Our grandson loves his new art tools, including this book. - Great!!
- All seven books I purchased written by Wm. Powell are excellent.
- Nice
